thank you for everyone who had allowed me to take pictures all of you are beautiful.

Elena is a college student, she is beautiful and she has this accent that you would think shes not from the here. I met her and used this new product called SCULPT by Mac. This product works well. Its a med. to full buildable coverage. As you can see the finish on elena’s makeup. I would always recommned this foundation. But to those who doesnt need the coverage at all i like the stick foundation by Mac for my photoshoots.

tip; always consider what your skin type is(dry, oily, combination) and ask your self do you really need alot of coverage. Women tend to go to full coverage just because they think it last more or stays longer. which does not. I had met alot of people who prefers to hide there beautiful skin with the heaviest coverage big no no. In all honesty it makes a young person look older. So the next time you buy foundation think twice and dont ever hesitate to ask the makeup artist and try to listen……

Id like to thank Elena for being a good model!  ill be seing you soon.

Nicole and i met in the counter where i work. She came in with her father. And she just has this warm smile, i instantly approached her and found out shes half japaness! great! i love to speak japaness again! their culture, their food are just amazing! Anyways, to cut everything short i got to work with her again. this time for her prom.  We decided to make her eye’s dramatic and classic. So that after ten years when she looks back at her picture, you can’t tell which year it was. a good Example: eighties makeup is all bold colors with think eyebrows and red-orange lip color.  Usually following trends hurts us. Yes, I gotta admit i was one of those victims. Believe me im hiding those pictures! lol. Also when i work i always ask to see the pattern of the dress. i will match the color but not too matchy2x. You just have to pick one color becoz what will happen is theres too much going on.Pick a focal point to where you want other people to notice you. (Just an advise i always tell everyone.)

I had a great time working with nicole very easy and she listened to my directions without asking me. And i love that about her. I hope to see you soon…

Angela

Angel

Another successful photoshoot and colaboration with Gamboa Photos has been made this past week. It is all about dramatic couture makeup for our new clothing designer NOISHAF(Brehon Williams). Angela’s look is more focused on the clothes instead. I purposely do not want to over shadow the clothing. What i did with her eyes was a simple Black eyeshadow with the right lashes to match.Voila! i ended up with this great look that is so easy to make.i used Nude lipstick and lipgloss to bring a little more edge to the look.

A few months back,I was lucky enough to have worked on kristy before her actual wedding. Because it does help alot to know more about your bride. What they want and what they need has to be met. Its there DAY TO SHINE you dont want to ruin it.right? Anyways, It was my pleasure to have worked with her and the rest of her bridesmaids. There fun and bubly! Her sister was so cute..if you noticed on the picture i took she has those gorgeous lashes.Which is real! (im jealous)She liked the Glitter i placed on the outer corner of her eyes and sprinkled all over her hair(reflect glitter by MAC).For as young as her i mainly focused on moisturizing her skin well, due to her age.She really doesnt need alot of coverage. And i let her pick the color she wants. (we want her to be happy ofcourse!) With Krizty’s makeup i focused on her eye’s since her lipshade is more on natural pink. Her natural green eye pop more when i used pinks and purple shade of eyeshadow. So, to end the look i used the HD powder from makeup forever.

Congratulation and Best wishes!!!

I got inspired to do this look when i was actually given a flower by my husband. Every color you see is in the entire bundle of flowers.(except the green)

This couple of months working in a counter i have incountered clients who uses Petroleum Jelly as there moisturizer for there face. It is a big mistake. We all know it is cheap but it is not worth it if it is clogging your pores and will give you black heads later on. Do you really want that? Generally, petroleum jelly is safe to use. Rarely, however, inhaling fat-based substances (lipoids) — such as petroleum jelly or mineral oil — for prolonged periods can cause lung problems. It is still used in most of the cosmetic companies but pls choose carefully and read the ingredients you dont want paraffins into your system.

Now a days there are a lot of organic products to choose from one of my favorites is the AVEDA Hydrating Lotion.

<!— Key Ingredients:
—> Camomile extract, Coconut-derived emollients, Jojoba oil, Lavender extract, Palm-derived emollient, Rice bran oil

tip 1. Always consider your skin type before buying any moisturizer. if your oily skin. ofcourse dont get the one that is oil based because it will make it worse. Dont afraid or get intimidated to ask help. The lady in the counter knows more about the product than you do.

Tip 2. When your using your foundation on top of your moisturizer always consider getting the same product line. think about it as Shampoo and Conditioner. If you used a different conditioner what happend to your hair? it contradicts its purpose. Now here you come complaining why your foundation doesnt last the whole day. Because your moisturizer has different ingredient that counter acts with your foundation. So choose carefully when buying a moisturizer and do your home work!

I hope this comes as a warning to everyone and please just leave the use of petroleum jelly to DIAPER RASH!

Last year,Harlem 2008 was held in Richmond Convention Center. I was given a great opportunity to do one of the models makeup her name is Jasmine. As you can see in the picture it is all about PLAYING WITH COLORS. I created this look so she stands out even from a far.  When doing a Run Way Makeup, you have to consider what lighting they will be using. Either indoor/ outdoor, time and location, season and also coordinate with the designer/hairstylist.These simple clues can help you work your way to do a great look. As you can see on the photos the location is dark. This is the time wherein you pick the eye color and the lip color. I started with a moisturizer, then Primer(prep and prime) to make the foundation last longer. next i start working on the eyes.I know most of my clients wonder why i do my makeup that way. It is because if i start with foundation i have to go back and clean the eyeshadow pigments that came all the way down to your cheek area and i would retouch tt. So for everyone out there who is learning how to apply makeup on themselves this rule can help you shorten your time applying makeup. After applying the pink and blue eyeshadow i wasnt satisfied so i added a yellow eyeshadow in the inner corner of her eye and it made alot of difference. TIP: dont be afraid of colors, makeup is not surgery. It can be erased with a good makeup remover. so dont panic if things dont go the way you want.  next lets move on to her lips. see how bright that pink she wore? i love dazzleglass lipgloss. first, I used a bright pink lip pencil Magenta (mac) and then added lipstick called girl about town by Mac and the lipgloss. She is now set for RUN WAY!
